MINOR STREET WATER MAIN REPAIR

KBX is fixing a leak on the water main on Minor Street. For a short period of time, they will be turning off the water service to Minor Street to make the repair. They are working as quickly as possible to restore service to the residents there. Please call the office if you have any questions at 610-268-8501.

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will host a virtual public meeting for the proposed Route 41 bridge replacement over White Clay Creek in Avondale Borough on Thursday, April 23rd at 6:30PM – 7:30PM. APRIL 7TH WATER MAIN REPAIR

On Tuesday, April 7th, the Borough will be doing a water main repair at 500 Chatham Street. Work should begin at approximately 7 AM. Residents may experience very low water pressure while this work is going on. Thank you for your patience while we complete this repair.

April 3 Update: The Borough is continuing to repair the water main on Third Street. This will affect water service throughout the Borough. The contractor is working as quickly as possible to resolve the issue. Check back for any updates.

The Mayor and Borough Council of Avondale Borough reaffirm our unwavering commitment to serve all residents without regard to immigration status. Our duty is to the people of our community, and we strive to ensure that everyone who lives, works, worships, or visits here can safely access local services, engage with local government, and participate fully in community life. Public safety depends on trust, which is built through fairness, professionalism, and respect for constitutional rights.

Avondale Borough does not check immigration status when providing services. We treat every resident with dignity and respect, regardless of race, nationality, religion, or background, and remain focused on fostering a welcoming, safe, and inclusive community.

We stand firmly in support of the Southern Chester County Regional Police Department and the professional policies under which they operate. The Department does not enforce federal civil immigration laws but will assist federal authorities when presented with a valid judicial criminal warrant, as required by law. We support this lawful and measured approach.

Avondale Borough will not participate in federal immigration enforcement beyond what is legally required. We expect all agencies operating here to act lawfully, professionally, and with full respect for constitutional protections. We remain steadfast in protecting the rights, safety, and dignity of our residents while upholding the rule of law.

SNOW EMERGENCY LIFTED AT 1 PM

The Snow Emergency Declaration has been lifted effective February 23rd at 1 p.m. Thank you to our residents for making alternate parking arrangements so our plow operators could safely and efficiently clear Borough roads.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to our dedicated Public Works team, Emergency Management Coordinator, and First Responders for their hard work and commitment to keeping our Borough safe—not only during the recent storm, but every day.

TRASH AND RECYCLING PICKUP IS TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 24

Due to the weather, AJ Blosenski will be collecting trash and recycling on Tuesday, February 24th. Please be sure to place your trash and recycling containers out early Tuesday morning, and not before.

Containers set out earlier may obstruct snow plowing operations.
