The Mayor and Borough Council of Avondale Borough reaffirm our unwavering commitment to serve all residents without regard to immigration status. Our duty is to the people of our community, and we strive to ensure that everyone who lives, works, worships, or visits here can safely access local services, engage with local government, and participate fully in community life. Public safety depends on trust, which is built through fairness, professionalism, and respect for constitutional rights.
Avondale Borough does not check immigration status when providing services. We treat every resident with dignity and respect, regardless of race, nationality, religion, or background, and remain focused on fostering a welcoming, safe, and inclusive community.
We stand firmly in support of the Southern Chester County Regional Police Department and the professional policies under which they operate. The Department does not enforce federal civil immigration laws but will assist federal authorities when presented with a valid judicial criminal warrant, as required by law. We support this lawful and measured approach.
Avondale Borough will not participate in federal immigration enforcement beyond what is legally required. We expect all agencies operating here to act lawfully, professionally, and with full respect for constitutional protections. We remain steadfast in protecting the rights, safety, and dignity of our residents while upholding the rule of law.
