The Health Department is confirming that a raccoon injured an individual in your area. The incident occurred near Hillendale and Sharp Roads in New Garden Township on Friday, June 19, 2026.

It is not known if the raccoon is rabid.

The Chester County Health Department has confirmed that a raccoon injured an individual near Hillendale and Sharp Roads in New Garden Township on Friday, June 19, 2026. The individual involved has received medical care.

At this time, it is NOT known if the raccoon is rabid.

Residents are strongly advised to NOT attempt to catch or engage with raccoons in the area.

Residents are advised to stay away from any wild animals and remain aware of their pets.
